Aiming to promote evidence based health strategy, policy making and programme implementation; the USAID’s RDM conducts a range of activities to communicate evidence generated through research to an audience constituting policy makers, experts in the area of MNCH, FP, TB management and nutrition for adaptation and reflection in national programme and policies. The activities include providing technical assistance to different national data-gathering exercises, conducting different need-specific situation analysis and secondary analysis of existing data, and organizing meetings/ discussion sessions/round tables to share generated evidence and findings with government and other stakeholders.

Through RDM, icddr,b scientists and researchers are providing technical assistance to various national level surveys. This technical assistance incorporates support in developing survey methodology; reviewing, updating and testing data collection tool; monitoring and quality assurance in data collection; data analysis, report writing, and dissemination and policy discussions.
In order to produce evidence that may lead to informed policy making and programming, RDM carries out an array of country situation analyses, need-specific secondary analyses and desk reviews of known and new interventions that are shared with key stakeholders.
Independent Reference Group (IRG) is an independent platform formed to monitor and track universal health coverage indicators and measure progress towards sustainable development goals in Bangladesh. IRG is facilitated by RDM and comprises of evaluation specialists, project directors, scientists, research advisors, public health researchers, academics working in the field of health in both government and non-government sectors.
