A cohort study to examine the dynamics of decision making process for maternal health care services in a low-income urban area in Dhaka

BACKGROUND
This prospective cohort study aims to document the process of decision making, and to understand the factors (individual, family, community, and health systems & services) influencing the decision making around maternal health care seeking. The study plans to follow a cohort of 1500 pregnant women through pregnancy up to 42 days after delivery to understand the decision-making process during antenatal, delivery and post-natal care seeking for the both mother and the child.

  • To understand the factors (individual, family, community, and health systems & services) that influence the decision making around maternal health care seeking

STUDY AREA
Selected areas under Dhaka North (Mohammadpur, Adabar, Darus Salam and Sher-e-Bangla Nagor) and South (Hazaribag) City Corporation
