USAID’S Research for Decision Maker (RDM) Activity will come to an end on October 2023 after six years of long Journey. A Dissemination Program was organized on the 3rd October at the InterContinental Dhaka, Bangladesh by USAID’s RDM Activity to represent its activity.
During the event, Dr Shams El Arifeen, Chief of Party for RDM and Senior Director at icddr,b, presented an overview and outcome of the project. The keynote session was followed by a discussion moderated by Dr Quamrun Nahar and Dr Ahmed Ehsanur Rahman. The session was attended by Dr Sheikh Daud Adnan, Deputy Director (Hospitals), DGHS; Dr Syeda Naushin Parnini, Director, Research, Health Economics Unit (HEU); Dr Md M Islam Bulbul, Program Manager, NNS; Mohammad Ahsanul Alam, Director Research and Line Director (TR&D), NIPORT; Prof Dr Md Robed Amin, Line Director (NCDC), DGHS; Dr Md Azizul Alim, Program Manager, Maternal Health, MNC&AH, DGHS; Dr Md Jahurul Islam, Program Manager, NNHP & IMCI, DGHS and other key stakeholders. The discussion focused on how RDM’s evidence-generating activities have shaped national health planning and decision-making. Guests from Govt and partner organizations who played an important role to conduct the studies under RDM including USAID, D4I, DGHS, MoHFW, NIPORT etc were also present as panellists to represent their collaboration with icddr,b.
Throughout this journey RDM conducted a range of studies. Studies and activities conducted under RDM produced a range of documents including policy briefs, study reports, technical reports, journal articles, Op-Eds etc. All these evidence-based research products were showcased in the program to the audiences and guests. A detailed list of knowledge products generated by RDM, along with a list of studies and evaluations were showcased at the event.
Principal Investigators of respective studies were present at the Dissemination Program to share the research information about their own studies. The participants had the opportunity to meet and exchange thoughts with the PIs’ closely to know about their studies and furthermore.
